Greyhound racing in Chile is organized by various greyhound clubs at venues around the country. The races are generally held on Sundays and holidays on straight, dirt tracks.1 According to one Chilean greyhound breeder, there may be as many as 200 tracks in Chile.2 Some greyhounds that race in Chile also participate in races in Argentina.3
Both country-bred and imported greyhounds (primarily from Ireland) are used for racing and breeding in Chile. There are seven breeding kennels in Chile listed on greyhound-data.com, an online database maintained by dog racing gamblers.4
We did not find any official rules or regulations for greyhound racing in Chile.
It appears that there is wagering taking place on at least some greyhound races in Chile.5
